About Me | Alyssa Leicht

Alyssa Leicht Freelance Writer

In my 15+ years of professional experience in researching and writing for nonprofits, museums, and libraries, I have had the honor of sharing some truly incredible stories with global audiences.

You’ll find my award-winning work in exhibits at places like the San Diego Zoo and National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, circulated in journals and magazines nationwide, and featured on numerous websites. Grant proposals I’ve written have funded museum exhibits, education programs, veterans programs, and more.

Along the way, I’ve had the honor of learning from experts and contributing to projects at elite organizations like the Smithsonian Institution, the National Museum of the Marine Corps, and the City of San Diego Central Library. I have a master’s degree in U.S. History from The Catholic University of America and a master’s in library science from East Carolina University. I also have a certificate in professional fundraising from Boston University and have been an active member of the Grants Professionals Association and the American Alliance of Museums.

At my core, I’m passionate about educating and inspiring others to make a meaningful impact in our world.
